Data Deletion Instructions

At iamadvocate.in, we respect your right to privacy and your control over your personal data. This page explains how you can request deletion of your account and all associated data from our platform.
How to request data deletion
To request deletion of your personal data, please send an email to:
Use the subject line “Data Deletion Request” and include the following details:
- The email address associated with your iamadvocate.in account
- Your full name as registered on the platform (helps us locate your account quickly)
- The login method you used to sign up (Google, Facebook, or admin credentials)
What will be deleted
Upon receiving your verified request, we will permanently delete the following data:
- Your account credentials and login information
- Your advocate profile (name, photo, headline, bio, education, Bar Council number, office address, contact details)
- Uploaded documents (profile photo, Bar Council verification documents)
- Published and draft articles you authored
- Case management data (cases, client information, hearings, payment ledger)
- Client directory entries
- Subscription history and payment metadata
- Referral codes and redemption history
- Reviews you have submitted on other advocates’ profiles
- Login session data and any third-party authentication tokens (Google, Facebook)
What we may retain (for legal compliance)
In certain limited cases, we may retain some data for legal and operational reasons:
- Anonymised payment records required for accounting and tax compliance under Indian law
- Anonymised audit logs of administrative actions taken on the platform
- Reviews you wrote on other advocate profiles may remain visible, but will be fully anonymised (your name and identifying information removed)
These records contain no personally identifiable information once anonymised and are kept solely to comply with applicable laws.
Timeline
Acknowledgement — within 48 hours
We will respond to your email confirming we’ve received your request.
Verification — within 7 days
We may ask you to verify your identity by replying from the registered email address.
Deletion completed — within 30 days
All your data will be permanently deleted from our active databases and storage. You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.
If you signed in with Facebook
If you used Facebook Login to sign in to iamadvocate.in, you can also revoke our access directly from your Facebook account:
- Go to your Facebook Settings & Privacy → Settings
- Click Apps and Websites
- Find iamadvocate.in in the list and click Remove
Revoking access on Facebook will disconnect your Facebook account from iamadvocate.in, but to delete the data we have already stored, you still need to email us at support@iamadvocate.in.
Self-service option
If you simply want to remove or update your public profile (without deleting your account), you can do this anytime from your dashboard:
